Accomodations, Education, Living In Society

God made our bodies composed of organs and every organ was attributed one or more functions. Several functions are physiological in essence and others are very customizable like language.

As administrators of our bodies, we are encouraged to get the most of ourselves by training. What, how, and to what degree we will teach our bodies? The answer is at the core of education.

Christians and secular minded people have recognized the need for an education as a mean to promote understanding and progress which is vital for our very existence as a specie. However, we often disagree on the how, the what, and to what extend.

Because un-Christians make what we call the mainstream, Christians are usually forced to accommodate a little to their vision on education for the sake of peaceful coexistence.

This accommodation though dangerous at times, may be beneficial if we use it to check upon missing (distorted) points in our interpretation of nature and God.

Every generation of people is composed of a mixture of an aging population and their offspring trying to come into agreement on how things should work.

Old folks resent changes which attempt against their accepted definitions and traditions. Youth, in an effort to accommodate to the new scenario feel an urge to redefine the ancient.

Let's consider some examples in attitude:

• For someone living when carrying packs of money was important, using credit cards may feel awkward.
• Someone being born in a small town needs to say good morning and hello to his neighbor, but if this same person moves to Los Angeles or New York that repeated greeting may become a nuisance.
• Remembering all faces and names in a small community school was a virtue, while in a huge school is completely impractical.
• Counting paper money in a bank was a sign of efficiency, now speedy and accurate transactions can make a fool of anyone insisting in that practice.

While the government has taken over the education enterprise to advance an alleged public policy, people in every nation have yet to decide on the what, the how and to what extend of education. As Christians we may adopt any particular education philosophy unless it denies the fact that we are Gods creatures, our bodies are his creation and we were made for happiness through worship.

Our minds were made to work with symbolism of two kinds: to express quality (words) and to express quantity (numbers). That is the way we interpret nature, at least for the time being. But no particular language is that indispensable neither any particular numerical expression. This were the case, Adam should have been created as an expert in Infinitesimal Calculus.

Even language as a communication tool, and artificial as it is (because you may create it and learn it), may evolve to some sort of brain to brain wave communication, who knows?

I consider as the heart of education to recognize the fact that we are accountable to God for whatever we do, and therefore it should be done to our best. An accommodation to this present world establishment in order to make sense out of our living in society is secondary.
