Letter to a Friend about Choices In Recreation And Eating

So I got out my laptop, and sure enough found her disapproval…. I’ve been studying the strategy game of Go lately, but I’ve taken a break from it for a few days realizing that it probably takes up time I should spend to read the vast library of theology books I’ve put together. Or, after I read her comments, realize that practicing Go takes time I should probably spend walking around the neighborhood, or getting extra sleep… So I’d kind of arrived at the same conclusion she talks about, even before reading her comments.. Good thing EGW was before computers, good thing I can’t find any recommendation against computer programming! 

One of the things I was sad to notice is that we might be getting a bit away from her counsels regarding our Sabbath potlucks. Bonita remarked about how vegetarian food seems to concentrate on carbohydrates. I dunno if she’s a Atkin’s Diet (high protein) fan, but lots of vegetables and fruits are what EGW recommends, but not with a lot of variety in any one meal.

It’s funny how a number of people remarked about being ready to go home and go to bed after the potluck (including myself!) According to EGW, it seems like that’s exactly what Satan is hoping for…

Doing these searches tonight sure gives me some things to think about with my meal choices tomorrow….
