Politics: Politics of War And Torture Of Terrorists: Our National Policies Towards The Indians

Not that this part is actually part of the thread, but, it was actually national policy for the U.S. Cavalry, (U.S.Army) to kill indians on sight. no questions. The senseless slaughter of Sative Americans at Sand Creek, was not a battle. The braves were off to fight, the Cavalry rode in and butchered men, women, and children. Regardless of age, the entire encampment of Native Americans were wiped out. Normally, the natives were strung up, shot, dragged behind horses, or just left to die in extreme conditions after being removed from their tribes.

It was further national policy to take the land that the indians were on for whatever was of value. The Sioux were removed from their reservation and moved to the Black Hills, in the Dakotas. When gold was discovered there, the U.S. Government moved, by force and threat of death, to thedesert regions further south. and told to farm the rocks to provide food. It was National Policy that they forced thousands of indians to march to their death because they were again in a real estate rich neighborhood. All this while being forced to be Christians and forsaking thousands of years of religion that respected the land and the animals that populated it. While they were being schooled to learn english, their smaller bands of Lakota, Dakota, Arapaho, Crow, Blackfeet, et al, they were being fed rotted meat, given small pox infested blankets, and forced to live in substandard conditions.

You are absolutely correct, Our Great Nation has never advocated toture. They ordered it.

You can argue the moralistic views with right and wrong. Like the Christians, the Jews, Islam, morals that you so proudly tout learned from the bible, and the other religious texts, every religion has periods of violence. the inquisiton, the crusades, and hundreds of other examples are available to prove the morals that you grandly quote. The bible has plenty of atrocities exampled throughout that describe the mentalities that were predominant then. You may believe what you believe. You may present your arguments here in a light that right is right, and wrong is wrong. I prefer to believe that when I die, my bones will become dust. When I meet our maker, if there is one, in whatever form he/she/it may be in, I am confident that I have lived my life well. My support or lack thereof, may or may not make a differencein whether or not I go to heaven or hell, should they exist. But my life n this planet thus far has been to live, love, and protect the lives of my children and my family. I will do whatever is necesary to make sure of that. If it means that I must take a life to ensure my own survival, then so be it. According to most religious views, God, Allah, et al, gave me free will and I will be judged on that.
